Work Principle

Working of Pre-Heated Compact Pressurized Copper Coil Solar Water Heater:

  1. Vacuum tubes absorb heat energy to heat the water in the storage tank.
  2. Copper coil is installed in the water tank as a high-efficiency heat exchanger.
  3. The water tank acts as a stable thermal source.
  4. When cold water flows into the copper coil, it absorbs heat from the tank water, providing instant hot water.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is solar water heating a viable alternative to gas or electricity?
Solar should be seen as a supplement. It cannot totally replace gas or electric as there are days with little sunlight. However, a correctly sized system can provide 60%-70% of a household's annual hot water needs.
How long will it take to recoup my investment?
Depending on your location and usage, the cost may be recouped as quickly as 4-5 years through reduced electricity or gas bills. You will make considerable savings over the lifespan of the heater.
Can these solar collectors be used in cold conditions?
Yes. Collectors can be used in temperatures as low as -30°C, although performance is reduced in extreme cold. Good heat output is still achieved in mild sub-zero conditions.
What happens if one of the tubes is broken?
Solar tubes are strong but can be replaced very easily if broken. The system can still operate with several broken tubes, though efficiency will decrease, so immediate replacement is recommended.
Will water be heated on a cloudy day?
Yes. Although output is reduced, the collector still provides heating on overcast days. If it is heavily clouded or raining, gas or electric boosting may be used to maintain temperature.
Is the system a fire hazard during hot, dry weather?
No. All components are high-temperature rated and non-flammable. Even during stagnation (pump off), the system will not catch fire. Most components are stainless steel, aluminum, and glass.
